Originally named Ashland First United Pentecostal Church, our church was renamed Christian Faith Outreach in 1987. It was unrealized until recently just what it meant to truly be an 'outreach' church. In the four years since becoming pastor, Bro. Easterling did all he knew how to reach the lost and build the congregation of the church and had limited success. He then felt the Lord talk to him at the end of 2006 to start preaching that 2007 would be the best year that the church had ever seen. He began preaching about revival and souls. He had heard about Bro. Matt Maddix and the wonderful revival going on in St. Petersburg, FL, and about his Soul Winners Bootcamps. A fire began to burn in his soul.

After a few trials in the church, Bro. & Sis. Easterling traveled to the Awakenings Conference in Columbus, OH, and heard Bro. Maddix's "It's In My Blood" message. Bro. Maddix introduced Bro. Tim Downs to the crowd as "the greatest soul-winner" he'd ever known. The Lord laid a burden upon Bro. Easterling's heart to bring Bro. Downs' soulwinning to Ashland.

A month later at UPCI General Conference, the Lord began dealing with our pastor about Bro. Downs. Bro. Maddix invited Bro. Easterling to go to Ybor City after service one night to do some radical soulwinning with him. Ybor City is a party scene, bars and revellers all around. They ended up baptizing 2 in the name of Jesus and one was filled with the Holy Ghost. God revealed to to Bro. Easterling that night that what we'd thought for years was all wrong. We thought that if we have revivals, sinners will come running. Actually, we are supposed to "reach out" to them.

We scheduled a revival with Bro. Downs in November of 2007. He came and showed us how to take the church out of the building and into the streets just like the Book of Acts Church. He showed us how to Bless our Community Through Giving. He showed us how to pull up to people in the streets and ask the if they want to go to Heaven or Hell. We baptized 21 people that week and broke an attendance record with 175 people in church 126 being first time guests. IT HAS CHANGED OUR CHURCH FOREVER!! We are now aggressive soul winners.

Currently we have Outreach on Thursday and Saturday evenings. We pass out flyers and snacks to invite people to church on Sunday, let people know that we Bless Our Community through Giving, and even approach people with the "Heaven-or-Hell" message. Much of the time, this results in a sinner choosing to go to the church to repent and be baptized in Jesus' name. PRAISE JESUS!
